This treatment system provides benefits, without the environmental health costs associated with chemicals.    The Anodyne Oxygen Process and Ozone are the only known disinfectants that have the Oxidation potential  to be effective against the water borne pathogen, cryptosporidium. The main advantage of this process and Ozone is, they do not create health threatening by-products such as Dioxins, Trihalomenthanes (THMs) and haloactic acids that are created by chlorination.   The Anodyne process produces a more powerful and effective non-chemical method of water treatment than ozone. This generates more oxygen radicals in one minute (20 to 80) than most ozonators can generate in one hour (1/3 gram to 50 grams). The Anodyne process is a proprietary water purification technology that provides much greater oxidation potential than ozone.   To give comparison of oxidizing potential, if chlorine is the benchmark, then ozone is exponentially more effective that chlorine and the Anodyne process would be exponentially and logarithmically more powerful than chlorine.

How does it work, and what does it consist of?

First, all your water is directed though an Oxidation/Ionization Chamber. When the water is running the control box electronically energizes the titanium and copper/zinc plates inside the chamber. The titanium plates oxidize organic compounds and impurities in the water and kill bacteria. This process essentially purifies the water, making it safer for you and your family.

   Water next flows through a large Activated Carbon Filter and other special media. This durable filter lasts five or more years for an average family of four. The filter removes chlorine, metals, chloramines, chemicals, impurities, odors and bad tastes from your water. Unlike most competitor's systems, this carbon filter automatically backwashes and recycles itself.

Back-Washing Shower Filter

You absorb more chlorine and VOCs through your skin in one shower than what you typically drink in week. Chlorine can make skin dry and flaky. It can make hair dry and brittle, and ruin hair coloring and permanents. Chlorine often irritates the eyes and lungs and is a real health hazzard.

This shower filter uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy, in a specially designed back-washable, replaceable cartridge. With this technology, our shower filter has been shown to effectively remove 97+% of this damaging chlorine and VOCs for up to 12 months for two people. It has been tested by an independent lab to ANSI/NSF 42-2000 Class I to 10,000 gallons. KDF can also remove low amounts iron, sulphur, and control the mold and mildew in your shower. The special interior design of the filter causes the KDF to be "swirled", enhancing contact with the water which improves efficiency. The streamlined "off-set" design only lowers the height 1 1/2", allowing for more head room compared to other shower filters.

A unique feature is the "Quick Flush" back-wash. Simply twisting the cartridge to the "Flush" mark will reverse the flow "back-wash" to release the sediment that can cause other shower filters to fail prematurely. A good example of this benefit is New York City, where century-old pipes contribute to excessively high sediment levels. While non-backwash shower filters were clogging up in less than two months, this shower filter is providing the full year of service!

Must be used with a 2.5 gpm (or less) showerhead for best results. Replacing the shower filter cartridge is a snap, too. Simply unscrew the holding ring and remove and replace the cartridge!

Shower filters overall dimensions: 6.7" tall X 3.75" diameter. Housing material: ABS plastic. Inlet: 1/2" female pipe thread, swivel. Outlet: 1/2" male pipe thread. To install, simply unscrew your existing shower head from the shower arm and screw on the shower filter. Then screw on your shower head on the end of the shower filter.
